Lovable, Furry Old Grover

Tonight we gathered a bunch of books together and popped popcorn and read. It was so nice having the kids cuddle up and laugh at the books. It's so cute to see Stella make all the sounds from different animals and to hear Isaac read Brown Bear, Brown Bear to Stella. I really love how they both love one of my favorite books, The Monster at the End of this Book. We read it a few times. Books are so classic.

One thing I really miss about the States is going to the library. The kids used to love to go and pick new books each week. Or go to Storytime and listen to books being read aloud. We have a library here but the hours are really weird. The kids section is only open from 8:30pm to 11:00pm. Its a little hard for me to take the kids to the library so late but I think we'll do it one night and see how it goes.

What are your favorite kids books?

Remember the book you ordered from the SJC Daycare? I finally put it in the mail for you today. I padded it with the clothes you left behind when you were visiting Blanding. WE LOVE BOOKS! and WE LOVE YOU!!!

One of our favorite books right now is "Because a Little Bug Went Kachoo." Now, whenever Richie sees an ant or any kind of bug he says "ah choo, ah choo", because that is the sound a bug makes. We really love books too.

I'm so glad you love this book - it was one of my favorites too. You reminded me to go get one for our grandkids!

Hey Eryka- Cute blog. Your little ones are getting so big. I have a huge weakness for childrens books. We have stacks and stacks of them. Our recent favorites have been "Sometimes I'm Bombaloo", "Green Eggs and Ham", "Chicka chicka Boom Boom", and "Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon". Love 'em all.

Hi Eryka!

Did you know that childrens' books are a huge passion of mine? I love a good book. My favorite when I was growing up were "Make Way for Ducklings" by Robert McClosky, and "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak. Now I have too many favorites, but some of my favorite authors are Don and Audrey Wood, Eric Carle and Shel Silverstien. There's nothing like reading with your babies...happy reading!
