London!!!

We're off to London on Thursday and need some help. What is your favorite thing to do in London? I've never been and still haven't made it to the bookstore to buy a guide book. So far I'm thinking we should do the double decker bus tour. This should be an easy way to see all the major sites. But I'm really looking for the unknown favorites. (i.e. where to eat? cool parks for kids? anything you can think of...) We won't be there for long and the first 2 days I'm the activity director for myself and the youngsters. Saturday, our last day, we get Daddy - hopefully. Please please please give me your best ideas.

Sounds like fun but nice Drew will be able to be with you on Saturday.
Wish I had seen London while I was over in England but didn't get in there. I called Denise and she didn't get into London much while she lived over there. I will email my niece and see what she has to say she was over their on her mission.

I have no idea what you should see, but I'm so jealous. Whatever you do will be new and exciting, so I'm sure it will be fun. And by the way, they even speak your language (sort of!)!

Tea at Kensington Palace is the best! Mmmmm, orangery cake. And right next door is a cool plaground with wooden pirate ships. And the Tower of London is my favorite, though that's not exactly off the beaten path.

There is this great big ferris wheel on the river that the kids might think is cool, and I thought Buckingham Palace was interesting. As far as good places to eat, for me food was hit and miss in London, I was hoping for really good fish 'n chips but never found them. London is HUGE, the tour bus might be the best option for you. Have so much fun!

Honestly, I don't think I'd take my children to any of the things I did in London :) I've heard the British Museum is amazing (I did the art museum instead). The tower of London was really neat for wandering and exploring - I bet the bit kids would like it. The "Eye" is that huge ferris wheel - but the wait can be CRAZY. I hope you have so much fun!!

My favorite things to do in London are: Westminster Abbey, Tower of London, St. Pauls Cathedral, and Picadilly Circus.
The double decker bus tour that you mentioned is a must. They take you past most of the major visitors attractions. The bus tour will take you many places that you can simply look at and don't necessarily need to get out and walk around (Buckingham Palace, Thames River, #10 Downing Street, Houses of Parliament, and Tower Bridge). Be sure to eat in a fish and chips shop. I always wanted to go to the London Dungeon but never got the opportunity. Unfortunately, London isn't much of a kids city. You have to walk alot to get around. You're going to a beautiful and historic city. You're very lucky.

I agree with Jess, the tower of london was totally interesting, one of those places worth listening to the tour guides. The london eye is only worth it if it's a really clear day- pretty expensive and long wait. Mostly I think the shopping is the best part! Just enjoy the electricity and history of the city and have a great time! Can't wait to hear your report! Oh, the Little White Company is a darling children's store... if you have time!

Oh my gosh! I LOVE London! You are so lucky! Anything you see will be fabulous because there is SO much to see. I love Piccadilly Circus, aka Euro Times Square, but still pretty cool.
