Little girls

Stella has quite the personality.  Lately she'll say the funniest things.  Here are a few examples...

We were out and I had a bag of garbage I needed to throw away.  I told Stella and she thought that I said we needed to throw Joaquin away.  She started crying and saying but we love him.  You can't just throw a baby away.  You a mommy, you need to love your baby.  I clued in and comforted her while trying to hold back from laughing.

background...She is a HUGE daddy's girl = she usually gets whatever she wants.
Stella:  Daddy, Please can I have ?
Daddy:  ok.

So I thought this could work to my advantage too.  I just need to get Stella to ask for say a Range Rover, or a boat or a shopping spree for mommy & stella.  So I tell her to ask Daddy for these things and she flat out tells me NO.

She keeps telling me how excited she is to go back to New York.  (I'm not even sure she remembers New York!)

She calls any group of kids "chicos" but she is not a "chico" or a "chica"  just a princess.

I can't remember what we were talking about but she just starts saying, "Mommy, we girls.  We important people.  What would happen without girls?  We just girls.  I promise."

I love her so much!

Last weekend we had a few big things happen...

Friday I finally started feeling better and was able to keep food down all day!  (This is probably the biggest thing)  Actually, it's kind of funny that it took a Burger King whopper to finally heal me.  I think I really am homesick.

Saturday was a yucky rainy day but we still had fun together.

Sunday, was a great Mother's Day.  Drew made a yummy waffle breakfast and the kids made an awesome Dora card for me.  I love how proud they get.

Drew was released as Elder's Quorum President in church.  (This is probably his favorite thing from the weekend.)

After church Drew made a great Steak dinner and we had a few missionaries come by to call home.  One set had an object lesson that the kids totally loved.  (Their favorite activity this weekend.)
Monday was another big day.  We celebrated out 8th anniversary.  We did it in true American style, dinner at TGIFriday's and an american movie, Speed Racer.  It was a lot of fun to spend the day with my best friend and kiddos.  I love you Drew!

I forgot to add...No, I'm NOT pregnant!

home"sick"ness

Main Entry: home·sick
Pronunciation: 'hOm-"sik
Function: adjective
: longing for home and family while absent from them —home·sick·ness noun

I know I'm homesick but somehow I didn't know that this would include being physically sick.  For the last month I've had everything including the flu, ear infection, tonsillitis, respiratory infection, allergies and food poisoning.  I'm really glad there are only 6 weeks left.

Other than being sick in bed we are super excited to be in Spain for the next month and a half.  This really is the best time of year to visit.  The weather is incredible.  It's green.  Everybody seems to be a little happier.  They have a lot of holidays (this equals more time with Drew)!  In general it's a really nice place to be.

Don't get me wrong.  We are even more excited to be moving home and curing our homesickness.  We've bought the plane tickets, scheduled the movers, booked hotels and are now waiting for June 18.  We're also getting really excited about living in a house in the suburbs.  After living in a city for 5 years I guess it was bound to happen.  I can't wait!

Isaac is enjoying school.  His spanish is improving everyday.  It's amazing how much he's learned.  I really hope we can find ways to keep it up in the States.  He's also really excited for a yard and a treehouse.

Stella is about to turn 3.  I can't believe how much she has changed since we've been here.  They really do grow up fast.  She's a great mix of girly princess and rough and tough boy.  She's adorable.  She's really excited to start dance classes and gymnastics.

Joaquin is 8 1/2 months old.  He's SO close to crawling.  He has this little bum scooting mechanism that helps him get around.  This is good and bad.  Great that he has a little freedom to move around and bad that he now has no encouragement to crawl.  I know he needs to learn but how do you make an eight month old crawl?  Hopefully he just needs a little time.  He was so sweet the other day.  I was sick and he woke up from his nap early so of course I was bummed.  But when I went in to get him he gave me the biggest smiles.  He cuddled with me on the sofa for over a half an hour just smiling and enjoying his back rub.  This kid is not a cuddler so it was extra special.  I really enjoyed it!

Drew has been home a lot!  We've had a few holidays and some more to come.  He's also been able to help out a lot with me being in bed sick all the time.  I really appreciate it!  I love him so much!

Overall, we're really good and enjoying the parks and everything we can while we are here in Europe.
