home"sick"ness

Main Entry: home·sick
Pronunciation: 'hOm-"sik
Function: adjective
: longing for home and family while absent from them —home·sick·ness noun

I know I'm homesick but somehow I didn't know that this would include being physically sick.  For the last month I've had everything including the flu, ear infection, tonsillitis, respiratory infection, allergies and food poisoning.  I'm really glad there are only 6 weeks left.

Other than being sick in bed we are super excited to be in Spain for the next month and a half.  This really is the best time of year to visit.  The weather is incredible.  It's green.  Everybody seems to be a little happier.  They have a lot of holidays (this equals more time with Drew)!  In general it's a really nice place to be.

Don't get me wrong.  We are even more excited to be moving home and curing our homesickness.  We've bought the plane tickets, scheduled the movers, booked hotels and are now waiting for June 18.  We're also getting really excited about living in a house in the suburbs.  After living in a city for 5 years I guess it was bound to happen.  I can't wait!

Isaac is enjoying school.  His spanish is improving everyday.  It's amazing how much he's learned.  I really hope we can find ways to keep it up in the States.  He's also really excited for a yard and a treehouse.

Stella is about to turn 3.  I can't believe how much she has changed since we've been here.  They really do grow up fast.  She's a great mix of girly princess and rough and tough boy.  She's adorable.  She's really excited to start dance classes and gymnastics.

Joaquin is 8 1/2 months old.  He's SO close to crawling.  He has this little bum scooting mechanism that helps him get around.  This is good and bad.  Great that he has a little freedom to move around and bad that he now has no encouragement to crawl.  I know he needs to learn but how do you make an eight month old crawl?  Hopefully he just needs a little time.  He was so sweet the other day.  I was sick and he woke up from his nap early so of course I was bummed.  But when I went in to get him he gave me the biggest smiles.  He cuddled with me on the sofa for over a half an hour just smiling and enjoying his back rub.  This kid is not a cuddler so it was extra special.  I really enjoyed it!

Drew has been home a lot!  We've had a few holidays and some more to come.  He's also been able to help out a lot with me being in bed sick all the time.  I really appreciate it!  I love him so much!

Overall, we're really good and enjoying the parks and everything we can while we are here in Europe.

Get better soon. Thanks to Drew, Isaac, Stella and Joaquin's helping mommy while she is not feeling well. We are so excited for your coming home to the USA, even though you'll still be across the country, but it is much closer than Spain. We did love our visit to Spain, but NY is easier to get to. It is so cute listening to Isaac speaking spanish, Stella in her princess dresses and little J is so cute and cuddley. Can't wait to see you soon.

Oh, I'm so sorry that you've had a run with all kinds of ailments. That sounds like no fun, but you have a positive attitude. I confess I'm excited for you to have a house too, just to see how you decorate and for the pictures of kids in their tree house

I was wondering if you were still under the weather beens we hadn't had any blogs coming through. Sure hope you are soon back to felling like yourself soon. Sure wish we had the camera like your folks so we could get to see you once in a while but won't be long till you will be back in the good old USA. We love to hear Isaac speaking Spanish. Sounds like Joaquin gets around like his grandma Martinez she didn't crawl just scooted around on her bottom and see Stella in her princess dresses. I will be sending her birthday package in a week or so.

For everybody out there who is already jealous of how skinny Eryka is, you know what this means, don't you? Super-model skinny from a "Sickness Diet!"
Hey, girl, start eating again, okay? We love you, and we're looking forward to seeing all of you again soon!
