Fall Foliage

Growing up in the desert I never really understood fall.  Yeah, the weather changed a little, the days grew shorter and everyone said it was fall.  But you never knew what it meant to rake leaves or see a pile of leaves and you had no clue what it meant for leaves to change color.  It's really unfortunate because I now know what Fall is.  Breathtaking.  I love the rainy days, the huge piles of leaves, the leaves piling up along all the streets, the brisk air of fall days and the colors.  This is my favorite.  The deep reds, the bright yellows, the vibrant oranges all mixed in with a little bit of green left over from warm summer days.  It's amazing.  You really have to see it to believe it.  So today I'm very thankful for Fall foliage.

I agree. Breathtaking. It's my favorite time of year. I cherish it especially because I know we have to go through winter next. Yuk!

Memories -- raking up piles of leaves, only to stomp through them messing up the piles; tossing the leaves in the air to watch them float down again; getting buried under piles of leaves so we could jump out and surprise someone. Thanks for reminding me!

We do have some fall leaves here in the desert but you have to go some place to see them. Cedar Mountain, across I-70 from Cove Fort to Richfield, Thristle we have some trees around the Temple that turn a beautiful color. I like Worthy when we were kids raking up piles and leaves and jumping in them and buring our selves in them what fun times we had. Just wish fall would last a little longer. Spring is another one of my favorite times when all the new leaves begin to come out on the trees.
