Sloppy Joe's

I have a million things I want to blog about but with a new baby that wants to eat nonstop at night I just don't have much free time. As soon as the kids are in bed I am too.

But I just had to blog about this. Isaac ate all his dinner!!! This is a huge thing. Isaac has always been a picky eater. So tonight I wasn't expecting much but he gladly scooped up a big portion and started in. He ate his whole plate and with his fork. After dinner I told him I was so proud of him and thanks for eating. His reply, "Denada, Mom."

On a funny note. When I was a kid I refused to eat onions. I could always spot them. It didn't matter how big or small my mom would chop them. I always found them and picked them out. Tonight I had a glimpse of how I was as a kid. After Isaac took his first bite he asked what was crunchy. He's not an onion fan either. I told him he could pick them out if he didn't like them. He gladly picked them out and said when he grows up he wants to eat them but not tonight. I'll take what I can get.

More to come, eventually!

Hey, Isaac! I picked them out when I was a kid too, but now I cook with them and eat them too. Happy onion eating when you grow up! Love, Gramma Gail

Congratulations! I know how gratifying it is when your kids actually eat something you want them to. Richie has recently started eating vegetables and fish, it is very exciting. I hope you continue to have dinner-time success.

By-the-way, the spanish is super cute! Richie has started saying "tanku, mama" and I love it.

I love to hear of kids eating a good meal. That's nice that Isaac realizes already that he's just not old enough to like crunchy onions in sloppy joes. I'm looking forward to more cute stories, but I'm so glad that you are getting your rest.

you're a good cook, no wonder he ate it all. :)

Yes Eryka I remember when you were little when you always picked out the onions. I remember on the Mc Donald hamburgers they always put the little chopped up onions on them and you made sure every last one was off before you ate your hamburger.
