80's?

I know I want to blog more and need to blog more but at the end of the day I just want to check everyone else's blogs and see what their up to.  Tonight I did so and I think nobody else felt like blogging either.

I have a question  for everyone living in America.  Are the 80's coming back?  They definitely are in Europe.  Everywhere I go I see styles from the 80's.  Mullets, skinny jeans, side ponytails, big belts, leggings.  Is it just here or is it like that in America too?

I'm seriously thinking about buying a pair of skinny jeans and tall boots.  In Spain every girl wears these everyday.  I swore I would never wear skinny jeans.  What is wrong with me?

Is this look popular in the States?  Leave a comment or go blog so I can mindlessly read your blogs and you don't have to hear me go on about skinny jeans and boots.

The Dentist

Isaac and Stella both had dentist appointments today.  They went great.  Stella went first and was very cooperative.   She was a little super star.  Isaac was nervous and she really helped to calm him down.  I'm so glad she didn't freak out.  Unfortunately, her two front teeth both have cavities but I'm not to worried.  They put sealant on the back molars and she did  great.

Next was Isaac and he hesitantly let them take x-rays.  He was awesome with the rest.  He let them brush, floss and put sealant on his teeth also.   And he has 1 cavity on a back tooth.

I guess we need to brush better.

Afterwards, Isaac told me he wants to be a dentist when he grows up.  I'm glad they had a good experience and at least so far don't mind going.

chapter books

The kids also got a few chapter books for Christmas.  This was our first try with a chapter book.  I wasn't sure if they would remember what we had read the night before.  Or if they would insist on finishing the book all in one night.  Or if they would think it was boring.  We tried it and they LOVE it.

We started with The Magic Tree House series.  They have short chapters, simple but interesting stories, a few pictures but not to many and each chapter ends in a total cliffhanger for my kids. It's really cute to hear their expressions or see their faces when its over.  The also have funny little conversations about "Jack and Annie"  the two characters.  We're now on our second chapter book and I've ordered more.

I love reading with my kids.

fun toys

This year I bought some really cool toys.

My kids LOVE both of these.  Isaac is really enjoying the math puzzle.  Who knew math could be so much fun.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

More than one set of Grandparents gave us money for Christmas. I'm usually very thoughtful and deliberate about how I spend my Christmas cash (meaning I usually don't spend it on something fun) but Eryka has been wanting rollerblades ever since she tried out her friend's skates for a ride in Plaza Colon a couple months ago. Eryka suggested we put our Christmas money to good use on a pair of skates and I was quick to agree since I have loved rollerblading ever since I was little. Here's a little clip of us playing in the park and putting our Christmas presents to good use.
